abderrahim, First and most importantly we all at CCF say and hope you continue to post with us. I have attached a couple of views of another '72 DDO which displays significant notching on some of the ends of the letters and numbers. This characteristic notching does not seem to be prominent in your example plus a photo of your LIBERTY is not included for review. Please upload a shot of the LIBERTY and I will give a final opinion. Thanks, mdpmedia

I don't think he's referring to the big one but one of the secondary DDOs which I don't think he has.

Hey Numismo, I bought a group of AU-Unc 1972 DDO. I was told that they are the FS103 variety. I'll bring them to the WPB meeting on Wed. night. Harvey

Quote: I would have to say not a DDO with the above statement after now having seen your LIBERTY. Never give up, however, and keep searching because when you least expect it you'll hit the big one someday.

Hi mdpmedia, and thank you for your answer, I want just to understand, there is other picture here, Arrows point to doubling on the B and R of LIBERTY on the doubled master die produced for the 1972 Lincoln cents. Here, http://doubleddie.com/203801.htmlthank you for explaining the difference. http://doubleddie.com/203801.htmlthank you for explaining the difference.

As mentioned it is master die doubling. It is a doubled die, but is so common it can be found on all three mints coins in a good percentage making like the price of sand as to common, as compared with gold in shorter supply. Here is a closeup of what the coin would have looked like in BU condition:

Value is the same as any other normal 1972 cent....just because almost half of them had MDD.
