Will be placing this coin up for sale soon, have tried to research but any advice or information before letting the coin go would very very much appreciated-

if its authentic, your probably looking in the $1000 and plus range as a top retail price. your best bet is to send to heritage auctions, have thdn authenticate it, slab it with a major TPG and then you'll recognize a top dollar sale less any commission...

Why is it that the rim denticles are so ill defined with this series?

If you plan to sell it, get it graded by PCGS or NGC. It will be easier to sell that way and you will get the best price.

Has now Been sent to Cgs Uk (didnt want to send to USA coin grading incase of getting lost in transit!) just wanted to know if it was genuine and has been graded as VF55. Have Decided to sell on on a certain auction site and is currently ticking down to auction end, anyone got any guesses on final value?

whats vf55? Different from what we use in the states.

the type 1's also usually had the dates weakly struck, but this is a nice solid strike

CGS UK uses a 100 point grading scale. VF runs from 40 to 59 so their VF 55 would roughly equate to our VF 35.
