Nice haul. I like the reverse on the Claudius, especially the shield arm.

I believe this type of patina is frequently referred as desert patina

Yes very nice coins. I have to ask are they "green" in hand or as Pirate1707 said a "desert" patina?

These are the sellers images, so I will have to wait to report on the actual color. And no, the seller is not Lucerne, but it is another seller in Spain which I have bought from in the past. It appears to me that there is a combination of both sand patina and hard green patina. I wish the Claudius As was better centered on the reverse, but I suppose that is why I got these two coins so cheaply.

These two would have qualified for the under $50 Smackdown with room to spare. However, these are not Sestertius, but rather they are As. The Sestertius would most likely cost much more.

My birthday is next week and I plan to get myself something, but these are just pre-birthday gifts. I have a grand idea. Why don't the rest of you buy yourself a coin for my birthday. Steve6x provided me with the same opportunity on his birthday.

The 19th. I'm pretty sure it's been the same date my whole life.
