Here is a 1996 Lincoln Cent I found when going through my granddaughters change a few weeks ago.
At first I thought it was a heave grease strike, and now I'm not so sure as it may be a late staged strike from a capped die... I'm caught in the middle of this one...

Darn typos, I'm beginning to think that whoever placed the letter keys on my laptop in China must have placed some in the wrong position, or my keyboard is possessed.

I agree. Late stage brockerage. Where does your daughter shop? I think I'll shop there too.

I'd say it is a capped die strike, with the cap fairly well deteriorated.

my gut feeling was a capped die strike, now with others in agreement, it will be labeled as so and enter the darkness of the ole storage container...
Thanks to all...

If you didn't have enough conformation already I would like to added another vote for late stage die cap. A very nice find by the way.
