Hello my name is Shane. My son is 8 and his been collecting for a bit. We go to a local coin shop every once and a while so he can spend his money on old coins, which is what he likes the most. When we get home the first thing he does is look up the coins he got in his coin books and to this day we've found everyone, until now.

We went to an estate sale last week and he bought a coin or medallion for a dollar just because he said It looks like a huge penny. Which it does. It has lincolns face on the front with dates feb 12,1809 - april 15,1865 across the top and under his face it has sixteenth president which so far is normal for this coin, but the picture and quote on the back doesn't show up in any of his books. The back of the coin has lincolns childhood log cabin picture and a quote under it which says "I WAS BORN,AND HAVE EVER REMAINED,IN THE MOST HUMBLE WALKS OF LIFE". I find pictures of other medallions with the front matching perfectly , but the back never does. So I need help finding some info on this coin or what ever its called. By the way its 2" in dia. Thanks,Shane

On the reverse at 12 O'Clock there is a date and copyright info, can you tell us what that says? This looks like a token that was issued in a set of Presidents. I think Shell oil did one many years ago as did Franklin Mint. The copyright might give us a hint.

The copyright date at the top says 1973 americana medallion co. I looked this up for a while and couldn't find nothing helpful.

well I have seen a lot of these before I could have bought about 120 of them but I didn't have the money they make different presidents on all of they have I think 30 or so different presidential faces on them but don't quote me on that and they aren't vary common. I hope this helps and if you wont more of them I mite be able to get you some more just ask and ill see if the guy still has them. they pretty neat.
