Got this coin from a fellow member, I like the coin but having a hard time putting a grade to it,maybe EF but the pitting is giving me a hard time.

Dealers call these "fillers". Heavy environmental damage.

OK so it's a "filler",does a filler still get a grade or are they something different?

This one is tough because it looks like the damage actually wore down some of the details. I would call it VF details, probably around VF30.

I will go with EF details, corroded though it does look close to AU details.

Yeah.. Heavily pitted, but it is a semi-key.. VF-35 details, corroded.

The only TPG (that I know of) that would put a "grade" on a problem coin is ANACS.

I would say VF35 (Details - Corroded or Environmental Damage) just short of EF40.
