I was participating and following an interesting discussion about the "In God We Trust" motto on US coins and currency that apparently has been moved to the below link:
https://goccf.com/t/129690

Now that I found it I get a message that says "There Was A Problem, You do not have access to this forum."

Why not?

Also, if a forum topic has been moved as this has shouldn't the old location have a link to the relocated topic?

Members must request access to the General Discussion forum and must have a minimum post count before access will be granted. You now have access to the General Discussion forum.

No, since members who have posted in the topic receive an email letting them know the topic has been moved.

Thanks Susan. I had not received an email about the topic move, I assume that that requires that one clicks the subscribe to button.

Appreciate the help!

n9jig, I believe that's correct. I brought up the same point a couple months back... it would be nice if there was some way for members to see topic maintenance. I read nearly every topic in certain forums so wouldn't want to subscribe to every one. And I'd like to know when a topic disappears where to find it without having to dig for it. Not sure there's a lot of support for that though based on feedback I received previously. It doesn't happen frequently enough for it to be that big of a deal, but would still be a nice feature.

In the case of the IGWT thread, I figured it had either been completely removed or relegated to "General Discussion" based on how the thread was evolving/digressing, so I checked there. Perhaps it's just being familiar with how the site operates and using reasoning to figure out where something landed, but it would still be nice to be able to consult a log or history.

*edited for continued inability to remember which slash to use when replying in the quick reply box.

the reason it is an Opt-In type of thing is the General Discussion area can be about anything not just coins and allot of people do not want to read stuff that is not coin related on a coin forum. So the decision was made when the GD area was created to have the members request access to that part of the forum if they wanted to read and participate in these non coin related discussions
