Recently I was taking some photographs of some coins and my setup to post on the board. When I opened the container for my crown sized coins I noticed a smell that reminded me of new shower curtain.

I checked some of my other binders and it seems that a few of my binder pages are not archival safe. They are all LeadDog pages and I am disapointed to see that the have Made in U.S.A. printed on them.

I am going to do a large purchase and replace all my existing pages with ones I know are archival quality with out PVC in them. I have done a lot of searching but figured I would ask here before I pulled the trigger.

I need pages in 2x2 and 2.5x2.5 sizes, that have a thumb push up slot at the bottom (because I don't have tabs on any of my flips).

I found some here in the price range I like: http://www.bcwsupplies.com/products...ket-page.htm. But they don't have the thumb slots.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks.

As I have understood right there are no archival safe plastic invented yet in the world. There are better album page options made from plastic, but even 2x2's are causing verdigris. Paper bags are the best...

I use cowens brand pages, used them for years and have been happy with them.

Polypropylene is archival safe for coins. Mylar (Biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate, AKA PET or BoPET)is even better because it's a strong barrier to harmful gasses and is widely used by archivists for protecting documents.

That's what I use. You can still get them from photography supply stores around here, but since 2x2 photographic slides are now obsolete technology, they're not as easy to come by as they used to be.
