What dates/mints are known to have exceptionally good strikes? I'm looking for one that has gorgeous eye appeal right now, and "great strike" sure helps in that area.

Thanks !!!

San Fran mint 1878 to 1882. Beautiful strikes, lots of DMPL's, huge mintages, really cheap for a great coin. That mint really knew what it was doing back then. (Edited for the 12 and under, I didn't think that was offensive, sorry)

What she said. 1880-1881 seem particularly easy pickings, common and in less demand than the previous two years.

I agree with the other posters ,, however I'm not sure I would want my 12 year old or for that matter anyone elses 12 year old repeating Becky's comment to anyone ?

The S mint coins are the best bet for what your asking for.

Hi Becky

Thank you for the edit ,, while I was not personally offended by the comment,I have to think about all of the members here ,, and that includes some young and impressionable minds .

I would much rather that they repeat the knowledge that you are so well known for here on the forum .
