I've recently become intrigued by the 1-1/2 inch bronze replicas of Congressional Gold Medals that the US Mint sells, but I can't find a reference online that has pictures of them. Does one exist? Is there a book? Some of the medals are really beautiful, but they don't seem to be very popular to collect.

I'm not aware of any on-line reference for this US Mint medal series, nor have I seen a book about them. I heard at a coin show recently that a book might be in the works, but I don't know any details.

I agree with you that a good number of these medals are attractive pieces and that they are not a very popular numismatic collectible. I'm not sure how many collectors know much about the series or are even aware of it. Maybe the three medals that have been released recently by the Mint will generate a bit more awareness and interest.

I'll post an update if I hear any more about the book.
