Just bought this. Sure looks to me like an 1839/6. Has line under cents, but it's not a silly head. Doesn't look like an N2 or N3 either. Could I have gotten lucky? If not, I've spent $12 on worse coins.

As you say it is not a silly head and it has a line under CENT. So that makes it either N-1, 2, or 3. The Head of 36 1839/6, or a head of 38. Coin is corroded and out of focus enough that I can't tell if the hair cords are plain or beaded. It has a clear center dot on the reverse. The 39/6 does not have a center dot on the reverse. That makes it a head of 38 and either N-2 or 3. Sorry.
