Hi! As a complete and utter novice in the world of collecting bank notes and US tender, I have a 10 cent fractional note that my great grandfather carried. I've not been able to find another like it online, so am hoping someone here can give me some information. I know it's worn...so don't expect it to have any significant financial value, but it has a bit of family history tied up in it, so that's the real value.

TIA
Hunter

scoutjim99...thanks for the info. The red seal appears to measure 38 mm in diameter. I cannot see any colored fibers in the paper. The edges are intact...no tears, but there is a "pin hole" in the lower right corner just to the outside of the Ten. The paper is quite wrinkled, however.

How should a note such as this be stored?

Thanks again.

In a plastic currency sleve laying flat . Okay there are 2 sizes for this red sela 38 MM (Small) and 40 MM (Large)
thesmall should have Violet fibers. sometimes they arehard to see unless the note is an reasonably crisp condition. This type is worth the most at $22.00
in find condition. My book is dtaed 2003 so It might be bit higher

Thanks, Scout. I'm sure of the measurement. No way it's 40 mm. I'll have to get an appropriate sleeve. Now than I know about this bank note, I suppose I'll have to learn a little more about these in general and add some more examples.
