I just happened to find a 2/3 horn 1936D Buffalo in change yesterday. Its been a long time for one out of change. Someone raided Dads collection. I got one,1929S buffalo in xf, from a kid at the store getting a candybar and bought him the candy and let him keep the rest of his change.
I guess when times are tough a lot of old coins go that way.

Nice find. I'm still yet to find a Buffalo or Merc, but I have found a barbados 5 cent piece and a 20 pence GB coin roll searching nickels

its been so long since I have received a classic coin of any kind ion change I cant even remember when it was. About 10 years or so ago I would see Buffalo nickels and stuff like that so often that it really didn't attract any attention, but now I haven't seen anything but modern coins in change for a very long time (I put the wheat backs in modern coin category as I do see them still pretty often)

Nice find! With that much luck I hope you looked to see if it was the 3 1/2 legged variety.

I would like to post a pic, but I'm kind of new at the pic posting and how to do it correctly. And I just got another 56d Wheat cent with luster yesterday. But I find quite a few of those. So not a big deal.

In the last couple of years I have gotten an 1898 Indian Head cent and a 1936 Buffalo nickel, I absolutely love getting older coins in change. I wish someday to get a Standing Liberty quarter although I know it will likely never happen.
