Alaska Frontier Mint- Whaletail. I think it is a token of some sort, but I can't find any information on it online. Is there anyone who can help me? It has a picture of a whale's tail on one side and the other side has a picture of the big dipper. It has no denomination, and the year on it is 1898. HELP!!
You are probably going to get a better response if you post a picture. Whaletail isn't exactly a family friendly search on google and if we had a picture of the token it might jog someone's memory.
The only information I can find on this is from an old auction on a Hong Kong website.
Apparently there was a set for the coins. You can barely make out that the top center coin says "Whale." The auction site had little other information on it.
Not a lot to go on but something. It has to be some sort of souvenir medallion.
Is there any way you could forward me that email address of the auction site? I have been looking for info and this is as far as I have gotten in 2 years. I would really appreciate it!
