I found an old 10k White Gold Diamond ring I had from awhile back. (Before I starting collecting ) Now I'm interested to see what its worth. Is 10k White Gold same purity of "Gold" as yellow 10k? Its 5.5 grams with 6 small diamonds in it. Diamond value not really worried about, just the PM for now.. So I'd figure a solid 5 grams of White Gold.

10 kt white and yellow gold are 10/24 gold(24 karat is pure gold). The difference is in the metals mixed with the gold to get the different colors. So,you have about 2.08 grams of gold in that ring. With just over 31 grams/troy ounce you have about 0.06 ounces of gold at $1770/oz. it is worth about $100. Now,keep in mind that what you have is "scrap" gold,it needs to be refined to recover the gold so nobody will pay you full price for it.

So it is the same equivalent to yellow gold. Ok. I wonder what I would get for it with the diamonds? I just want to buy more silver with that money! Lol

Most scrap gold buyers will not add anything for small diamonds. If it was 1/4 carat or bigger they may pay extra for it but not for "melee"(small diamonds added for accent).

10k is .417, via the other .583 are other metals as mentioned....
31.108 grams in troy ounce, or 20 DWT....
5.5 grams converted to pennyweights, simply divide 1.552 an you will get an answer of 3.54 DWT or pennyweight. Multiply to convert from grams to DWT, again 1.552...
I would pay MAX about 25 per DWT on 10k, again not 24k pure. So bout 88 bucks, or a C note if you are real lucky..... Most all lame diamonds jewelry stores pawn off today are WORTHLESS....
Don't get me wrong, there are diamonds out there GIA certified mulit CCz, amazing color and clarity worth 10z of thousands, but most like said if not at-least a 1/4 or more of a good cut and color, you better try an get buyer to include your diamond as gold weight, trust me on this as I have worked in this field at a couple of different locations....

Silverhawk works for one of the gold shops he would know best. I would think if you get lucky with ebay and list it at $200 it may take 3 or 4 listings before it sell but it probably would sell. If you wanted cash now I would give you $90 :)

A lot of the PM buyers out there want 1/2 caret or bigger diamonds in the things that they buy. In many cases, small diamonds are cutting room chips and not worth much, if anything.

Agreed with the above statement. if someone brought me this ring I would pay 98.57. 100% of melt is 131.42 right this second. Also will add that when you test white gold with acid, sometimes it will turn green if you drop acid directly on it. Always test it on a stone to make sure.

So I wouldn't even be able to get melt value for it? That's kind of odd....hmm. I'll post pics in a minute
also would like to add, I just looked at it again. It actually has 9 small diamonds but one is missing lol..

If your selling to someone who wants to purchase b/c they like it you may get melt. I personally would only buy to sell to my scrap guy

They want to make money off it too and if they pay you melt when they melt it theyll either break even or lose money from a drop. They wont ever assume its going to rise in price

The fact it is missing that small cut diamond, takes away any chance of what TBK said, via 200 on it if you sat on it a while....
If you could get 125 for it, and convert that into a 3 oz. tombstone bar, I figure you would be doing real good, just my opinion....

Probably not worth much if its Gold Rolled Plate, but looks to be worth at least $30-40, just a guess again.:~
