It's amazing,I have gotten very, very few of the new Jefferson nickels. I am only getting the old style Jeffersons in my change. The new stuff just must not be circulating. And now I get very few westward journey nickels anymore either. Have all these been hoarded or something?

I believe that people are hording the new nickels. I admit, I hoard them myself. I haven't seen too many in circulation either. After a couple of years we should see more of the facing forward Jefferson. In a few years the Jefferson's will no longer be new. I have saved every westward journey nickel I received in circulation, and have yet to fill a coin tube.

That is crazy you haven't been able to fill up a tube yet of the westward journey nickels. I rarely get them in my change anymore. If your wanting more you could always buy a box of nickels. I did that once and got about 2 rolls worth of the Buffalo nickels. Its frustrating new coinage is rarely seen in the beginning of a new series because they are being hoarded.

Not much of a problem getting the westward or new nickel in my area of Arizona. I get them all the time in my roll searching, however they are almost always from the Denver mint.

Bruce.

I just haven't had too much luck on the East Coast, with the Westward Journey nickels.
Rest in Peace

I just went through a huge amount of change. For every 12 nickels I looked at, only one was a new one.

So, they must be hoarded.

Those are better odds than what I've had.
