I saw that yesterday. I don't know how to respond to that. If it were Dremmeled, wouldn't it be noticable?

It is noticiable. You can see the clad layers when it has been altered!

I am worried now, I recently bought 5 of the so called smooth edges, from a guy who had 100% positive feedback on ebay located in Jacksonville, Florida. Is there a way to get it authenticated? Coinmaniac

What I meant to say was, wouldn't it be noticeable to the buyer. I can't imagine him purchasing it without seeing it.

Here is some photos Ken and Fred have put up to show the edges of a coin from the Denver mint and from the Philly Mint with no edging. It is very informative. For those that are looking to join a membership this one is a great one. http://www.conecaonline.org/index.html

I have to say that I admire the seller for doing this and I am going to send the link to this thread and ask him to join CC. I'd like him/her to see that there are sites out there who are trying to educate collectors so that they can protect themselves.

If you look at the questions and answers there are a lot of people out there collecting coins that have no idea what they are doing. Anyone should realize that this is just a comic demonstration to show how gullible some people are, not only on this auction but on many others.

I just seen on CNN the other day where they were warning people about large amounts of counterfeit new gold dollar coins with the no edge writing and are being sold on numerous auction sites and so forth. That everyone has to be careful when purchasing these coins.

I wonder what he paid for it from the guy at Home Depot. Maybe they were using it as a demo as to what you can use a Dremel tool for.
