Would be UNC if it did'nt have the scuffing on the cheek, eyebrow & a little on the hair, might still make UNC but you'll have to wait for Walter or one of the other pro's to tell you for sure.

At first glance i'd say the surfaces are MS64/65 but there is some rub on the cheek which might knock it down 1 or 2 grades, it looks very different from most 3d's I have seen, so I will say that it is MS64 (assuming it hasn't been polished/dipped), it's very hard to tell from the images though and i'll defer to a collector of 3d's (as 1940's 3d's aren't really my collecting area).

I recon this is at least MS-64/Choice UNC or maybe better.
Looks like a weak strike on the obverse.
Crappy pic's but you can still see the lustre some rub but a sweet coin
Nice coin enwarb

I'd say its probably only MS63 because of the scuffing on the obverse

Nothing wrong with being only a MS63 coin, Most of these little buggers got shoved through gas meters and got knocked up.
By the look of this particular coin I recon it will do better than MS63

I notice that the image of the King is often very weak with coins of the early war years, from the Melbourne Mint.

Find a strong King's image of a Melbourne Mint '42 threepence, and you have a coin valued at $hundreds.

I think this photo might be a little better. The obverse does have full cartwheel lustre other than the cheek which has that slight rub on it.

The coin's Unc but that scuffing on the cheek will restrict it to a lower MS grading, probably MS63.
