I just can't seem to find anything close to this type of coin on the internet except for plating removed. Would it be worth it to have it graded by PCGS? biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 10/02/2012 7:33 pm Dimes are not plated so there is no plating that can be removed. You do indeed have a genuine partial clad error with pre-strike separation. The best specimens are uncirculated with fully red copper, I would value it at $20-30. For comparision, see my quarter with 3/4 of the clad missing and my dime missing the full reverse- Report this Post to the Staff

ErrorCoins222 Pillar of the Community United States 1699 Posts	Posted 10/02/2012 8:57 pm As already stated, it is genuine. Note the obverse weakness along the obverse rim, opposite the layer absense. It does not always occur, but when the layer was torn off after being rolled it can happen. This is because there is less metal to fill the space between the dies. I would agree with biokemist's price range too, and ii dont think the doubling is anything that will add value. Report this Post to the Staff
