Picked up a roll at work. It looks like a possible dump by a former hoarder--it's a customer-wrapped, not bank-wrapped, roll, but has "2001 Massachusetts" written on the side and what little of it I went through (I was at my register with unwashed hands and didn't want to leave prints) matches the description. Shiny, full cartwheels, no marks.
I don't collect Staties and only grabbed this roll because of the apparent uncirculated state (I know, technically I got them off a register and therefore they are circulated, but guys, you should see these--I don't remember ever seeing a Massy this bright, even when I was a kid). Would I be better off throwing them in flips and selling them for 50-75c each on the Bay? Or selling the whole roll as-is?

I think you'd lose too much in fees (and shipping, perhaps) selling them individually. I'd try selling them as a roll, personally.

I agree sell as a roll. Individually youll be lucky if after shipping and all the costs if you even made a nickel on them

If you sell it as a roll, don't advertise it as an unsearched roll.
I agree with the others, sell it as a roll.

Buncirculated, I'd sell it as-is--that I found it at my register, checked the first few coins, and they match the description on the roll. I can't say whether it is "searched" or "unsearched" because all I know is that I saw shinies that matched what was written on the roll, and snatched it up--I'm not the one who made it, and I will note that.

Jbuck, could I get a comment wipe here please? Up through my comment about completing trade with argentum. Everyone else, getcha Massy roll, nice hot fresh Massy roll for trade!! (I should be one of those peanut hawkers at baseball games.) |
