OK, guys. I haven't bought ANY silver since early July, so was feeling the itch pretty badly. Unfortunately, I kept waiting for our good friend BarryG to write in to say that he had bought some silver and that a silver price crash was imminent. But, noooo... BarryG is nowhere to be seen or heard! What the heck? This canary only has REAL value to the group WHEN he is IN the coal mine and not off sitting on a beach somewhere. lol Anyway, I put in an order with Provident today for 75 silver Maples, thanks to their $1.99 over spot offer. No, this is not about silver prices or where I think that they are going in the short term. This is just a dollar cost average buy to help create a solid silver bullion position.

Sorry, but after silver went above $30 I've been forbidden by the wife to make any more significant purchases until it drops below $30 again (although I did buy a couple of rolls of dimes recently from a fellow CCF'er to feed the habit a bit).
I promise you though, that if and when silver drops below $30 again I will make more large purchases. After which you can be assured that the price will drop sharply even lower...

I hope we hit $40's before the fall back to below $30 an ounce.

Here is a hypothetical conversation between Buffet and the big wigs at Wall-street that may be occurring as we type..... "Psssst, Blue-horse-shoe LOVES Annicote steel and Barry's wife has the clamp down on his gold and silver purchases until sub 30's, so buy all you can before it shoots through the roof !"

I hope we touch $30 or lower. Until then, I'm saving as much as possible & buying in small 10-20 oz batches to feed the stacking urge. This will be very interesting to see how Silver finishes out this year and beyond...2013 is only a quick few months away.

Im sorry I'm not in tune with this conversation but. You seriously make big enough purchases to have a noticable impact on the market?
How much do you buy at a time?!?!

In reality, I just have bad luck and a poor sense of market timing, so I always seem to buy just before the market drops sharply. I can, however, affect the weather by washing my car...

It might be wishful thinking that silver will get back under $30 any time soon.

Quote: Interesting Ed,I was just thinking the same thing and eying a nice 10 ounce bar from Silvertowne. I just may need to scratch that itch! Indeed so, Hock. I can't see sitting on a pile of fiat, just waiting for it to melt away before my eyes when I can convert it into something that does not know what the words "inflation" or "QE" mean. Quote: Please Barry buy some silver and gold to, I need a quick market crash back to the mid 20's..... Right on, Hawk. I waited as long as I could but then silver fever took me and I HAD to do something about it! Quote: Sorry, but after silver went above $30 I've been forbidden by the wife to make any more significant purchases until it drops below $30 again (although I did buy a couple of rolls of dimes recently from a fellow CCF'er to feed the habit a bit). Lol, Barry. But at least you did get those dimes to ward off the worst of the withdrawal symptoms. Quote: Here is a hypothetical conversation between Buffet and the big wigs at Wall-street that may be occurring as we type..... Lol, Hawk. Yeah, I can just see that happening. Sometimes, those guys come up with some really unusual "metrics" by which they look at the world. Hey, this is no stranger than most! Quote: This will be very interesting to see how Silver finishes out this year and beyond...2013 is only a quick few months away. Indeed it will, Trip. In fact, 2013 is shaping up to be really interesting no matter what. This all seems to be part of that old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times". Quote: I can, however, affect the weather by washing my car... Yep, me too... and the migratory paths of various bird flocks too! Quote: I havent bought in 2 weeks and I'm already getting jittery. Yep, that's definitely silver fever. I recognize the symptoms immediately.

I suppose this latest jump has to do with QE3. With the elections coming up, who knows which direction prices will go. Isn't there a usually a winter dip in prices?
