Somehere around here I saw a posting of a beautiful 5
dollar "Redback" from the Republic of Texas. Can't seem to find it now to give credit to the member who posted it...but thought I would post one of my Republic of Texas notes. This is the precursor to the "Redbacks" and was printed only on one side, they were interest bearing and payable in one year from issue. This one is signed by Mireabeau B. Lamar, the 3rd President of Texas (also later the 7th President of the Republic)and issued Oct 13,1839.

Collect mostly dollar coins frm the US and the State Quarters, plus anything I mind happen upon as an "acorn". Wife collects paper money frm around the world and coins with animals on them, oh yes, I collect the Republic of Texas stuff too, along with antique Texas Pottery.
