@ platinrubel Thanks! You being close should pick some up. Seems like that bar sold for a fairly high price. $63 plus $10 for shipping. Sheesh. I actually bid on this but once the bar and shipping topped $45 I was out.

I stay away from anything called german silver. Although this does look like pure AG. people use those plays on words purposfully so that they can get away with trickery

you must not be afraid of this "german silver". silber is silver and has nothing to do with "german silver" or "neu silber"
but you must know what is a bar from a refining company.
but I think this are the basics for a collector or investor.

the inscription on spanish bars is plata, on french bars "argent" - so whats the problem? only the language?

Probably not the language but the fact that there are many "German silver" articles for sale these days that are not silver at all.

german silver is of course no silver - its like "nordic cold" only a name
but its important to know the european hallmarks and refining companies.

of course we in europe have also the same problems with silver or gold bars from the united states.
and you always have to beware of the mostly chinese fakes.
and of course its better - not to use ebay to buy such worthy products.
