It looks polished in the images. I assume it's a 1911-P? Deatils are likely AU.

Based on what I see, melt would be the value. About $440 right now.

If you don't have experience handling raw gold coins, then I would pass on it. Weight, size, and appearance can authenticate common dates if you know gold.
