Does it have any covering for the coins?

There is a clear panel which goes on the front and back of the colored center panel which holds the coins.

Those holders seem to be hard to come by and they are somewhat pricey

If purchased new they are quite expensive. This Bowers and Ruddy Galleries holder probably cost them well over $100.00 each being custom made and probably had holes for types not included in the stock Capital Plastics type set holder. I paid $20.00 for a pair 19th and 20th Century type set holders #460 A and B which were slightly used in their original boxes. I just acquired a lot of seven Capital Plastics holders which included one #460-B never used in the box, one all mints holder for 2 1/2 dollar gold coins in the box, one used #490 Capital Plastics type set holder, a set of the three Capital Plastics holders for the silver eagles plus an extra one for the years 1995-2003 all unopened and I paid $58.50.00 for the whole lot including shipping. The never used $460-B holder alone originally cost almost $60.00. These holders can be had for much less than their new price with a little searching.

Was just up on Capital Plastics web site and saw that they had a 19th century holder for type coins. They also had individual 2in x 6in holders for type coins, cents, dimes, etc. They have room for about 6 different cents, whatever. They were really nice. tried to grab a picture but they were all png images. Prices were like double what dealers like Wizard was charging for the same items.

edgman, The prices on the Capital Plastics web site are their suggested retail prices. Capital Plastics price for a 19th Century type set holder is $60.90, Wizard's price is $45.68 and the slighlty used one I have I bought at a coin show for $10.00 in its original box. Wizard orders a large enough quantity that they can sell the same holders for significantly less than can be had from capital Plastics. They are the ones to buy from if you want a new in the box holder. I browse coin shows and ebay for new and slightly used holders that I want and can usually get them on the cheap.
