WHAT I LIKED
The educational exhibits. I saw the Walton 1913 nickel. Learned how to pan for gold (got 1 flake)
exhibits of biblical coins
The US mint was answering questions and had the new dollars.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing, They was demonstrating how money was printed on a hand press. They had another person showing how they process damaged bills (burned, wet, damaged) Also was the engraving plates for the 5,000.00 and 10,000.00 bill. Also they had 12 $100,000.00 gold certificates on display. (seurity was everywhere)
I liked some of the friendly dealers. One I bought the Walker from made me a very fair trade and a little cash. The second I bought the 2 quarters from was a great guy I bought from him before.I also spoke to some very high end dealers that thought nothing of letting me hold and examine material I could never afford to buy.Stacks let me hold a few paper pieces graded ms66 that were well over $20.000.00. Another dealer had a 21d walker in ms65 that listed at 28k.
I really liked the treasure hunt for kids. They had a question sheet and the kids had to go to the numbered dealers and answer a question. They got a small prize at each table (candy, steel cent, wheatie etc) at the end if they got them all right they got a coin in a ngc sample slab
I liked the fact that NGC,ICG both had graders. They both stopped me from buying a danaged raw 14d both said it would come back bb. (Thank you)
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE
The start of the show no one was communicating with anyone, it was disorganized and confusing.
There were a few unfriendly dealers. I was asking about a trade for a walker with one dealer and he said I don't need any of this and kind of "tossed" them across his table.
A seond dealer as I was asking a question went and sat down and got on his computer (had nothing to do with our conversation).
a few were just too busy or had attitiudes that made you not to want to deal with them.
SO IT WAS WAY MORE GOOD THAN BAD.
