If I could afford it and you know how to spot counterfeits that is. I didn't really look at the rest of the coins to closely but the ASE's at spot may be worth it also

I was thinking about picking up the ASE and maybe the Silver Maples at spot. Maybe a gold coin or two also. I have no experience with gold so I don't know how to tell if it's real or fake. I live in a real small town, and given that there is a large variety of things and not all the same, I think they should be legit.

yeah maybe, but a large quantity doesn't really mean the coins are real, it actually would make me feel the other way but any classic coin at spot in my opinion is definitely worth picking up if you could. But that is just my opinion and I am not a metal hoarder, I like the coins for what they are not for their content so I may not be the best one to ask. I am just giving my opinion.

I missed 7 morgans sold at $27 each :(
He said some are still in the original plastics (ASEs).

I think I might pick up some of these and sell some since I can't afford to buy all I want and keep them.

Does anyone really know Gold Coins? I want to pick up some gold coins and wondering thoughts...

(thanks for the input Bryan)

Alright, I took advice I had compiled from several different people of "stay away unless it's certified." He sold EVERYTHING within two days! Maybe they were real and I lost out big :(

I think you made the right call, the potential reward was not worth the inherant risk involved with dealing with raw double eagles.

Where you live makes very little difference if coins or anything is real. Those could all be from one person that sells fake stuff all the time. If none of thoes are slabbed, I'd really worry. Also, when someone posts a pile like that, again, I'd worry. Yes it could or might all be real, but something just doesn't appear right in this matter. And yes they may or may not have all been sold but then too, how would you really know.
Always better to be safe than sorry.

Sorry, just saw this thread for the first time right now. I would have said buy government minted bullion at spot for sure. Maples, ASEs, NTR bars, silvertown, kooks, grizzly etc etc. Ya just cant get that anytime. Besides, if you're trying to stack then price today isn't as important and just buying at the best prices time to time is the way to fly. There are many other variables involed but as you learn you will descover them and be able to make educated guesses on what you should do. Sorry you missed it. if you had the money, they were good buys for today. CHEERS!
