I've ordered from them a few times without any issue. However, today was a bit slow. A few extra seconds to load a page, but not too bad.

"...obnoxiously slow..." is a good one - accurate, appropriate and correct. Other good ones would be "irritatingly slow", "annoyingly slow", "outrageously slow", "unprofessionally slow", "we couldn't care less if you ever spent a dime with us slow", "we couldn't care less that our website drives away a lot of business slow", etc... It's so slow that they couldn't possibly be unaware of the problem, so the only other logical possibility is that they just don't care.

Could be that they need more computing power. When a lot of customers log on at the same time, that can slow any system down. If we want them to do something about it, they need to HEAR that it's a problem.

Quote: I was logged on at 1am eastern time and it was still in credibly slowwwwwwww That would be the typical time for routine server maintenance. I run into this on the Vanguard and Scottrade web sites from time to time. At times, they aren't just slow, they actually reject any attempts to log on until the server maintenance is done. Quote: Its never fast though. I've logged in at all hours of the day and weird hours of the night. Same slow pace every time Maybe you youngsters just need to slow down a little and smell the roses? Yes, I do know that a slow web site is annoying. It is for me as well. Just pullin' your chains a bit. My point is that if this is a problem for you, then let SilverTown know how aggravating it is and that you won't be shopping there any more unless they fix this. They have to know that if some customers are irritated by this and contact them over it, there are probably MANY others who are aggravated as well but who do not take the time to complain about it. I dunno, guys. I just flipped over to the SilverTowne web site and navigated around in it for a minute or so and it seemed fine to me. Maybe the speed problems you are having are due to something other than the S-T web site or server capacity? Parts of the Internet can be slow at times, depending on the equipment used in that part or the amount of traffic it is getting. Anyway, new pages were coming up in 1-2 seconds. Is that slow? Seems OK to me.

A minute or 2 to jump from one page or area to another isn't bad. What ST does to me is after 1 or 2 moves, it screeches to a total halt in its tracks, freezes solid and then refuses to budge. It'll sit there like that until it finally pops up a notice (10 or more minutes later) that says "This Page Cannot Be Located" or some such thing. I sent an email to ST telling them about how their site treats me got back a pretty casual and indifferent-sounding response telling my input would be referred to somebody... Wowie Zowie! I was truly, deeply and profoundly underwhelmed! They gave me the impression that they were less concerned about their problem than I was.

Ed - forgot to mention one thing... On that "youngsters" thing - my kids are closer to age 50 than they are to age 40, so I'm no longer really a "youngster." However, I can honestly say that if I'd ever known I was going to live this long, I definitely would have taken better care of myself.

But try and sort through it and it comes to a crawl. Load the certified commemorative page then click pcgs or ms70 and it will spin for a bit. Same thing happens to me if I look at too many different things

Have to say that I have not seen this happen on their web site, ever. Not even implying that you haven't, though. Weird stuff can and does happen on the web. Quote: Wowie Zowie! I also have not had that experience with them. Quote: On that "youngsters" thing - my kids are closer to age 50 than they are to age 40, so I'm no longer really a "youngster." I have taken decent care of myself so am doing OK these days. Not fantastic, mind you, but reasonably well. Have had some serious challenges along the way but managed to muddle through them, thanks to a loving family and faith in God. Quote: Load the certified commemorative page then click pcgs or ms70 and it will spin for a bit. OK, I tried that. No problem. Took about 3 secs to bring up the commemorative page and 2 secs to do the MS70 sort. Not sure why but I am not having any speed problems on the S-T web site with Win7 and either Chrome or IE9. It is a puzzle.

I have heard that this sometimes causes inexplicable slow responses to some folks. Not that you could do much about it if that was it but then neither could SilverTowne.
