Hey Wert! I just posted something about the 1965 penny. Too funny we both wrote about the same thing. My question, is there a die clash on the reverse that matches the one in my post? My 4 coins have the same thing!
Hi wert. Is your penny a large beads or small beads? I have a nice 1965 large beads that has the "D. G. Regina" doubled on it, too. It doesn't have JeyRey's extra "die clash" mark near the stem though.
That type of doubling is not just found in 1965, you can find it in almost every year from 1965 to 1979. It is not a variety per say, it is Machine Doubling damage. It is also most noticable on elements closest to the rim. In fact, sometimes it can even make small beads appear to be the large beads variety (hence the importance of the position of the A to point at, or between the beads, as an identifying marker).

I see the letter doubling is common but what about the line that appears in the four coins I found recently as described in this post. What would I call this? https://goccf.com/t/130975
