Found about a dozen or so notes when cleaning out my grandfather's house, most appear from early WWII and are European, somehow this one got in the mix, only had an Uncle in WWII and don't think he transfer theaters to the far east, origin is a guess, but can anyone tell me something about it?

Looks like a 10 Yen note, issued by japanese in China. Thus, this is occupational currency. Although I do not have my books at hand, it looks like early issue, issued somewhere around 1938 - 1940. Value isn't much, I bought mine for 2.30 euros or US $3.

Your note is slightly different to the one in scoutjim's note in this thread. See the bold red overprint? That translates to "military note". These notes were used in Japanese-occupied China, particularly Hong Kong. My old book values it at $1.75; JJH's values are probably fairly accurate.

thanxz to both of you, I appreciate the input. I have a bunch more notes that I found in my grandfather's house, he passed away in the 50's and an uncle of mine stayed there until 1981, then he passed and I cleaned out the house, found about 20 diff notes from around the WWII era, they were still in the cigar box frm then until now. Will post some more today and later in the week.
