I have sent the item out First class yesterday via Automated Postal Machine. As its a postal holiday today it would not make much difference to the arrival time. Its gone with delivery confirmation.
I have sent the buyer a message through ebay explaining this and that it was what he contracted to when he placed a bid. I hopefully will not hear anything more from him.
I don't like selling on ebay but I recognize if I want to move something fast its has the biggest Audience.
I Have done close to $10,000 worth of sales this year but have yet to make the 100 items needed to reach power seller level. This series of sales was of smaller items in the hope that I now qualify as a power seller. I don't want a negative feedback to jepardise this and thought for a while I should just give in to the demands. But thinking about it I decided its not the way to go. It just encourages bad practice on the buyers part.

Good for you nohope! I think Mom puts it in good perspective that you should offer Priority mail as an option, the other good thing is that with priority mail, you can have the postal person pick up the package from you home if you wish, along with any other packages. The postal person even leave me a pick up slip sometime.

I have done it many time, save me gas and trips to the post office.

Ok now I am really annoyed. Two items shipped to buyer tracking numbers added to listing in ebay. Buyer messages me to say where are my tracking numbers. I respond they were added to the listings. Sorry I am out of the country right now I will look them up and send them this evening. Now I get a message saying he is going to ask PayPal to refund his money until I get back in the USA. Can he do that and what recourse do I have. I just don't understand people these days.

What's the feedback rating of this buyer? They must be new to ebay or just a plain trouble maker. Good luck with this one.

Tracking indicates the package is in his state he still intends to try and pull payment. Anyone have any suggestions?
I have already spent more in international phone calls than the items were worth.
Rest in Peace

This sounds like a case of buyer's remorse or worse. Can they reverse the payment without receiving the coins that are in transit? If ebay sides with the buyer on this case there is definitely something wrong with the ebay "system".

There's nothing the buyer can do, as postal delivery has item in transit, no termination can be done between both parties until item is received. Buyer may then requested for refund after sending coin(s) back to you with DC.

Nohope, I wouldn't worry about the buyer at all, there's always bad buyers out there, just block them as usual. I have on several occasion that even a high feedback buyer neglect to pay for item they bought from me, email through ebay system that they are going to pay it later on that never happen. The only thing I can do is have ebay give me credit and ebay send buyer a warning. I believe after 2 warning within 6 months period, these buyers are suspeneded for X amount of time on ebay.

Wow, this is pretty bad. I too would like to know the buyer's ID to block him.

I've had some crazy experiences on that site so nothing surprises me. You are going to be safe as far as the payment/item is concerned...as far as the buyer not being able to keep both. The buyer will be able to neg you and probably also steal your fees if he is really vindictive.

Welcome to the fair world of ebay. I gave up on sellers getting a fair deal when during a dispute over a year ago I was literally told by an ebay rep "I know that you are right and if I could I would rule in your favor, but I have to rule against you as that is our policy." He didn't mean to say it is their policy to rule against sellers, but he implied that they pretty much always rule in favor of buyers and ignore common sense. They also allow any neg feedback even if they know its unjustified.

btw, I have a tip for you. Try to ebay message the buyer and induce them into "feedback extortion." Just bring feedback up and say something like "You shouldn't leave me bad feedback for not complying with your wishes." Hopefully he'll respond and incriminate himself....then you could get his feedback removed and he'll get a policy hit.

So far I have and fully intend to conduct everything through ebay messaging system. I want a trail if this develops. I think he is shall we say a little strange. He claims to have had PayPal revoke the funds but as yet nothing has shown on my PayPal account. He now claims I owe him three coins yet he only won two auctions. If things escalate any further I will ask the mods if its ok to post his user ID here. I will also consider inviting him here to tell his side of the story.
The story so far it starts from the bottom. Auction closed on the 7th October.
Invoice was sent 10 October on the after waiting 3 days for payment
Invoice paid on 10 October
Items shipped on 11 October
My specified handling time was three days and I was way under that. So its not surprising it has not arrived yet.

email chain
Dear nohope587,

I filed a claim I didnt take your money pay pal took the money from your account and they will give it to you when the 3 coins I bought arrive .

Dear

sir you entered into a contract when you chose to bid on my items. Upon payment I fulfilled my part of the contract by mailing the items and posting a tracking number. Which is available to you under your my ebay tools. You have no recourse to pull payment. until you can prove I have not fulfilled my part. As the tracking information is available to you, PayPal and ebay it can be clearly shown the package is en route to you.

Dear ,

may I ask for what reason? The items were shipped. As soon as payment was made tracking numbers were added to the listing as required by ebay.

Dear ,

*******
Tracking numbers were added to the item when they were shipped.
I am currently out of the country right now and will not have the resources to look up the number until later this evening.

If he filed a claim, you would have been notified as a response from you would be required.

The transcript you've provided makes him sound less like a mean guy or scammer and more like someone who just isn't all there. That's probably the better of the two options. Who knows, he may get his coins and that could be the end of it. I don't see anywhere where he is asking for additional coins. Is there more to this transcript?

And yes, post his ID. I have a collection of morons on my blocked bidder list and I have a slot waiting for this guy.
