I was looking for some certified proofs for my friend's birth year and stumbled across this listing for a 1956-D Roosevelt (I know it's not a proof); Long story short, I was the high bidder, less than my max bid of $10. So I asked the seller "what did I win? The coin image (1844-O Seated quarter) or the coin description (1956-D Roosevelt)? No response yet, although I paid promptly. What do you think? Here is the dime, according to the PCGS certification number listed in the description body; ...at least there is 14 Day free return shipping!

If the entire listing described the 56 Id say the 56. If you really wanted to be a jerk though I wonder if ebay would say the picture? I actually have no idea what ebay would say if you decided to press the issue (I wouldnt) but itd be interesting to know

I personally think you'll make out well either way. Beautiful toning on the Rosie. Congrats!

I also think you will get the Rosie. However, I think you got a good price on it, I really like the toning. I think if the seller put up the actual pictures of the coin, it would have sold for quite a bit more because of the toning.

there are picture mistakes all the time on ebay so there is no way ebay would make someone send you what is pictured especially if the whole description states something entirely different. I have seen pictures of different coins like this and it is usually from someone with multiple listings and they just mixed up the pictures, its not a big deal to ebay just as someone with a "stock photo" isn't a big deal to them

OI, I've never won an auction like this, but I would think that ebay would not side with you in a dispute if you pressed for receiving the 1844-O. However, they would probably side with you if you wanted to return the 1956-D, even if the seller has a no return policy. But it looks like he's got a 14 day return policy, so see what happens. Good deal either way. I did see something like this about a week ago. One of the sellers I usually watch had listings for 2008 and 2009 mint sets, but they accidentally (I'm assuming here) switched the photos in the listings. Well, both the 2008 and 2009 listings ended up selling at 2008 mint set prices, so I think everyone that bid crazy 2008 set money on the 2009 listing was assuming that they could press the point to the seller and get a 2009 set instead. They are a high volume dealer with many listings every week, so there might be a chance that they wouldn't risk a negative feedback. Maybe the same will happen for you. Good luck. By the way, beautiful blues on that dime. Whatever you receive, I would keep either way.

I keep looking at the reverse and the mint mark sure looks like an "S" to me. Does not match the 1956 date. Just wondering ...

It looks like an S but if you blow it up big, it's a D and the toning is what is making it look like an S.
Oh I Hate to Wait got an awfully nice deal either way...

I noticed the oddity of the Mint Mark myself. I will break out the USB Microscope when it arrives.

KenKat, THANKS! It IS a "D", but the original picture is deceiving.
