This one is in my type set. Love the toning on this one and am debating sending this one in due to the color....just unsure of where this one would grade.

I have no idea on the grade. Just saying that that is some AMAZING toning.

Do quantitative tests exist that would allow one to determine the difference between natural and man-made(artificial) toning on 90% silver coins?

If so, how much additional value %wise on average does natural toning add to the value of any Peace?

Conversely, how much value does man-made toning %wise on average detract from the value of any Peace etc.?

I'd give AU-50 to MS-62

I think closer to MS-64 as well, too many hits to go any higher but that toning sure looks original and really makes this common date dollar stand out. Worth a premium regardless of grade assigned.

Sorry, but my say is unatural toning on a very nice details, luster, strike, 1923 Peace$. Send it in and see what the slobbers say. Hey, I've been wrong before but, I wouldn't pay more than MS64 for this coin and for me it would not be worth slobbing.

Please post the results with pictures on this thread should you decide to have it graded.

I am dying to find out about the toning.

Many Chinese outfits have got it down to an art and it's extremely difficult to tell.

Thanks,

...

Anyway, if the pictures are accurate, that should grade 65 all day! Personally, toning doesn't impress me as much as others, but that is a nice looking coin!

I'd go with 64 and the toning looks natural to me.
