Are they "your" coins, or are you thinking of buying them?

...Well the NGC number is covered. Why, I don't know? They would be valuable, I have search for a Carthage stater of value more then any other coin. ... If some obscures the number then I would suspect a cheat, but I am leaving it at that other wise both coins would be many thousands of dollars. No offense but fake NGC cases have come out of China so I would be learly of buying them from unless from a reputable dealer. Good luck with that.

First, there is no need to apologize for your English. It is fine. I'll bet not many here speak even a one second language let alone try to write it in proper grammar. So, your English is just fine!

As for the coins, they are beautiful specimens. I assume they are genuine based on the slabs. The value has to be quite high.

The first coin, the Carthage ZEUGITANA. Carthage. AV Stater, could be worth around $5000. Take a look at this web page: http://www.acsearch.info/search.htm...rt=&c=&a=&l=

The second coin, the Kingdom of Macedon MACEDON Philip II AV Stater might be worth a little more at around $5500-$6000. http://www.acsearch.info/search.htm...rt=&c=&a=&l=

I may be wrong on the values, but this is what I found in my search. I hope this helps. And welcome to CCF. If you have other coins we would love to see them.

I found 13 examples of the Zuegitana Carthage El Stater, ranging from $640 to $4600 (average selling price = $2020)

I only found 6 examples of the Macedonian Philip II Ev Stater, ranging from $1000 to $5000 (average selling price = $1920)

... note these were from Wildwinds, so some of the selling dates are now quite old, so I would use these selling prices as "minimums" ...

SUMMARY => minumum $2000 each ... maximum $5000 each

NOTE => if they are authentic, they are gorgeous!!

I'd want a really good answer to why those numbers are defaced. The pleasant answer is that the coins are stolen but the Chinese fake idea is valid. If $4k means nothing to you, you can buy recklessly but if that were the case you would not have asked how much they were worth. Buy from a dealer worthy of trusting with large sums of money.

Those are very beautiful coins and outwardly they look genuine. However like Ancientnoob I'm wondering why the NGC numbers have been blocked out. By looking up those numbers on the NGC website it would give a description and an approximate value of the coin. As others have said, if they are real there value is in the thousands of dollars.

It looks too me that the numbers were covered digitally on the photo rather than on the slab itself.

The numbers verified, but the color of the background of the slab is a little off. This could be just from your pictures.
I would like the see images off the whole back side of the slab, to see if they match with NGC's.
