I picked this out of a junk box today. (I'm in Canada.)

Does anyone have any clue what it is? Sorry it's so worn, but it might still be identifiable. Oh, it's about the size of a cent, but a tiny bit bigger (say 1mm) and slightly thinner.

It has some of the features of a civil war token, but it could well be something totally different. I'm just really curious.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The 1-over-C sure is a known civil war token motif. Haven't found an image of one that looks exactly like yours yet.

OK I think I've figured out this coin, and it's simply a Mexican 1 Centavo, circa 1900.

Staff: feel free to move the topic, and sorry for being on the wrong track. I was pretty sure it was some kind of U.S. token.

The eagle is visible, but not the cactus or the snake!
