So I just went to my main pickup bank to get some nickels, and decided to also get the 3 dollar coins she had on her tray. I ended up with two presidents and a 2010 Native American dollar. And I was wondering if there was anything special about these dollars. I looked in the RedBook, and the mintage was a little lower than that of the Presidents, and the price was a little higher. $5 in MS-65 vs $2 in MS-65 for the presidents. So I was just wondering if I should spend it or keep it. It's not in MS condition, obviously.

If you want to start collecting the series, keep it.

Just took 22 Native Amer and 15 Pres. back to the bank. Really not worth tying my cash up for. If they are high MS or Proof keep them if you want. I understand the Federal Reserve is overloaded with Presidential $1 and the banks are tying to refuse to take them. Notice I said trying to refuse, legally the banks have to take them from the Fed.

Just my thoughts

I'm actually thinking about starting a collection of the Native American dollars.
It would be my first modern collection. (besides Kennedy's and proof sets)
Thinking of putting the dansco on the old christmas list.

Okay, thanks. I'll probably spend it then, since I'm not really interested in starting that series. I was just curious as to whether those had anything special about them. Thanks anyway!

I'm trying to collect the whole series so I will get some rolls from the bank, pick out what I need and spend the rest. As the others have said, if they aren't MS, they are worth face value.
