Hey guys and gals. Did a face to face deal with a member from kitco today. Went very well. Traded my 1/2oz maple for $250 plus 2x10oz NTR bars. Very happy with the deal. I was at work and he came to the jobsite to complete our deal.

During our brief conversation he was saying he cant seem to sell his junk silver and I know I have had no offers on mine here in CCF. I know that it sells no problem on ebay so I was curious.....

Who here is in the market for Canadian 80% junk silver? Feel free to elaborate as well. CHEERS!

Being in Canada I own a large amount of Junk 80% over $1000 FV
but I also own a lot of US 90% junk

Too many people want spot for Canadian 80%

Basically Ill pay just over what kitco pays in CDN dollars

1966 or earlier $0.669 $15.601
1967 $0.500 $11.660
1968 $0.415 $9.678

I usually never buy at more than 2xface under spot. But those kind of deals are always far and few in between. Spot or just above spot seems to be the norm. I really like my junk silver.

I buy "Junk" Aussie silver all the time.
To me it isn't junk but coins.
I have found some great coins in "Junk" lots along with some very mediocre coins as well.
I like to keep all of what I get and haven't sold any yet ( I have given some away)At the end of the day they are far more interesting than an unappealing bar of metal.
Give me coins any day

Haha Trout...I like coins but love the bar of metal too! Guess more since I'm trying to trade some of my coins for some "metal bars"

I've accumulated over 100 silver Canadian dimes through roll hunting here in the US. I just sold all of the '67-68 dimes and was given 50 cents ea by a dealer. Ho-hum.

You yourself won't spend over 2xface under spot, but have yours listed at almost 4xface over spot. If you're not willing to spend over spot, why would others?

CDN silver is a tough resell imo, I picked up about $20 face earlier this year, and probably won't get anymore(unless it's well below spot).

All right, I'm obviously missing something here. You gave somebody 1/2 ounce of silver and got $250 and an additional 20 ounces of silver in exchange? Is that 1/2 ounce maple some incredibly rare and collectible bullion coin or something?

I'm thinking it was a 1/2 oz gold maple...I think he made out on that deal.

Akane17,

People think what there selling is gold and want high ebay trends.

I would only imagine Canadian would be a tough sell in America. Its a tough sell here in canada. I sell for spot plus shipping any less its not worth it for me, and even then its a hassel buyer complain, a lost parcel could ruin any potential profit. My smelter pays 98% with any amount over $500fv. I like you buy only when its available well under spot, but then again I have no issues taking them to my guy and having them smelted down. There is some risk as I dont get $500fv everyday and markets go up and down. But at the end of the day id rather get my 98% then bring in a smaller amount for 80% of spot.

First of all I have posted that I would sell for 22xface shipped not 24...spot being 20.5. The other $7 that they would spend is for shipping which I just added into the price rather than having to work out shipping costs aside. Second I have also posted in the advertising CCF auction section that I have more up for sale and was ACCEPTING OFFERS on everything! Which meant nothing was in stone and that I'm very reasonable to a reasonable offer. Third, just because I hold out and am extremely patient to find a deal at 2xface under spot doesn't mean others are and that they are willing to pay spot or more. I am fully aware the knowledge that is on this forum, and obviously don't look to sell here at a highly inflated rate. Please do not insult my integrity.

So why dont you just sell at spot plus shipping might get more interest that way... But remember canadian and american spot vary about 70cents

because no guess work for the buying party. The price they see is their total investment...no math no surprises.
