Answer this puzzle and a 1909 Lincoln Cent will be sent to you.
Imagine four match sticks. Arranged in a square.

-------------------------
-.......................-
-.......................-
-.......................-
-.......................-
-.......................-
-.......................-
-.......................-
-------------------------

That makes four, 90 degree angles.
Move the matches, WITHOUT breaking, bending or in any way
altering the original four matches.

Too hard? Just give me a good reason why you want to collect US Lincoln Cents.

Oh, the question? Move the matches to form 16 right angles. I just heard this problem on the radio today and I LOVE it!

Canadians only, and perhaps I should limit this to members who have 50 posts. But I am easy. Not cheap. but easy.

So please, do not give away the answer. PM me directly.

My reason? My dad gave away 1909 cents to new collectors. and I have a few left.
Way back in the late 50s and early 1960s.

I'd like to carry on the tradition.
On parle francais. English spoken.

So far, Mike in Ontario and John in Nova Scotia have sent their addresses. Envelopes addressed.
Who is next?
I counted wrong. I have closer to 20, so a LOT of Canadians are gonna be happy!

The contest is over, thanks to an Ozzie giving away the answer. No matter.
Any valid Canadian address will get an example as long as supplies last.

But, dear Canada, keep those frigid winter winds to yourselves. Oh PLEASE!

The first five lucky recipients are:

"B" in Harrowmith and
Mike in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Noah in Kelowna and
Vikram in Surrey, British Columbia

And John in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Don't be bashful! Free is free!
CANADIANS ONLY!

I would just LOVE to have to send one to the Yukon or Northwest Territories.
PEI would make my day!

Not much chance these fur trappers get to see an old Lincoln Cent.
And does the mail still travel to PEI by ferry?

Addressed and sealed - will try to get to the post office tomorrow.

The above named recipients have each been sent a 1909 cent as of this afternoon.
Air Mail. $0.85 US. Hand canceled.
So it should not take too long.
Please advise when received.

Any other takers? The answer is move two matches so that the four make a tic tac toe board.

So no luck involved anymore.

Ah, papatony!
And I once drove through the Allegheny State Forest.
Doesn't make me your 'friend in Penn!' (Old tourist promotional slogan)

Stopped for a break. Saw a UFO. From ABOVE! I had to cast my eyes down at about a 45 degree angle.
Hovered silently above one of the little lakes formed by the Kizua Dam.
Came without warning and stayed only a moment. Lifted off vertically. Just as it landed.

If I knew then what I know now I would have taken the longer and not so scenic route.
Haunted by Native American ghosts? Secret US testing grounds/hiding place for strange things?
I'll never know.
