After calling several places, went to a shop and picked up: 1 2012 ASE - 37 1 2012 Silver Chinese Panda - 46 *Edit* I added the years of the coins. Also, any comments on the prices? I was thinking of buying online but the shipping charges on such a small purchase would probably add up. Edited by ninetwosix 10/13/2012 5:29 pm

First I would like say . Next the prices seem just fine. $37 for a ASE is about the going rate on ebay, and your panda is right on the money. For your first time at dabbling your toe in the water, you did all right. Now keep stacking em tall and broad.

Youre right about buying online. Sometimes there will be free shipping specials which are good for small purchases, but its always important to add the shipping cost into total cost when comparing a shop. Larger purchases are generally cheaper online depending where you live. Nice pick ups. The ASE was a good price. You can get it a little cheaper online but with shipping you saved money for just a single coin. I dont buy panadas so someone else will have to comment on that price

Two good pieces to start off with. Price wise you did fair but can do better. Welcome to CC Forums.

Making that first silver purchase in person is always nice. And the ASE and Panda? Both outstanding choices and you got 'em for a pretty good price, too! Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

Thats the best way to do it. A lot harder to get taken advantage of when you know what the market price is

FIRST AND FOREMOST I think you did not too bad. Keep learning and researching. You will eventually find even better deals but $37 ASE in hand is better than ebay prices. Panda is about right where it should be too.

Sorry to get off topic but from reading a reply here, where in Gods name can you find an ASE cheaper than $37 online? lol. Common bullion ASEs are going for $$39-$40+ on ebay.

Theres a few websites you can get them close to spot like 35 36 especially if you buy 10 or more but definitely not ebay.

Yeh, you need to buy a few of em but you can get them. Unfortunatley, for those who would like to add 1 or 2 a week, there is never really a good price relative to spot prices unless you find someone on a forum selling for whatever reason.
