Does anyone know of a practical way to get ONE of these coins? I am willing to work a deal with someone who bought a tube/box/etc if needbe. This seems like such an odd coin to be cut off from Canadian buyers. Very nice looking coin.

I think they are near bullion price. A real shame, as the only way to get a crested 1812 coin is the expensive gold piece.

they are charging a little over us38.00 a coin in tubes of 30 with free delivery and will ship to canada. this morning you could buy an antelope 1 oz. for around 36.50 canadian as comparison, also they have no idea on mintage.

It's a friend of mine. I also added a few at the same price since I ordered 3 tubes of it!

No offense, but I am not facilitating someone making a 63% profit. I would certainly pay someone $50 shipped, or trade for an equivalent coin, but expecting someone to buy a bullion coin at near $80 an ounce is ludicrous. Thanks for the ebay links, but I am sure some of these will trickle out at the $45 mark within a year.

I'll wait for an auction to start at $0.01 with no reserve and see where the price ends up at.

Depends how you classify the coin. If the mintage is in the millions and you see it as a strictly bullion item, then of course not. If the mintage is considerably lower and there are enough interest, you really can't measure this one with its weight in silver. Face it, we're collectors, and collecting don't make much sense through the bullion-investing eye. Else, we wouldn't be here on the forum and would be just stacking generic silver bars. I asked a RCM rep. No way to get it through the mint.

the ebay price on this coin is pretty fair, with the ebay paypal, visa fees along with your time, a 8.00 per coin is reasonable return. an antelope coin has a 4 t0 5 dollar mark up at most dealers, also I am told the mintage is up to 300,000 if the demand is there. last point do not confuse bullion to a coin issue or you would just buy bars much lower mark ups, one shou.ld be upset with the RCM for creating canadian coinage for distribution only through one selective dealer in this case an USA DEALER

Some friends and I bought three tubes of this coin to save on all the fees the seller is charging for small credit card orders and it finally cost near US$40 a piece.
This company is also so big that they can give tracking numbers because of their insurance company... first time I hear this!
