Picked this up at a local flea market the other day. From what I can tell, it's a British half penny. The date is mostly worn off, but I believe it's 1772. It's in terrible condition, but what is it worth if anything? Also, I apologize for the pictures, I had a hard time taking them. Thanks for the help!

1772 is one of those years with a few varieties. Unfortunately your coin is probably too worn to tell.

You can get these pretty easily for a few pence in England, so its not worth anything really. But its still of alright age. You can get a BU Red coin from the 1790s for £20-50 - to really get anything of value, you need Queen Anne and before (you'd probably get 50p for a queen anne in this condition).

hi thanks benby 1772 was a very bad year for counterfeiters in England from what I've read, made me smile, got too thinking everyone was making them
I think this sample came out of circulation during the 1950`s
