I have just ordered my 2012 half crown which is limited to 9999 worldwide. It's 9ct gold, do you think this is likely to gain much value over time or is 9999 too high of a montage amount. Cost me £45 ?
If you are buying direct from The Royal Mint office, you will be paying way over the bullion value of the coin.I . bought coins from them 4 or 5 years ago and if I sold today I would make a loss. You would have to treat it as a very long term investment.Ive been on their web site and they seem very reluctant to tell buyers the weight of the coin.I would be interested to know ? Mason.
It's not a UK issue - the legend reads "Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II : TDC" It's deliberately done to confuse everyone. TDC stands for Tristan da Cunha.
