I purchased this 1942-P Type II Jefferson as an upgrade to my existing Jefferson War Nickel and wanted to hear what the CCF has to say about it as to what PCGS slabbed it as.

Good move, bad move?

Your comments are welcomed and appreciated!

MS 65 FS

Then again the strike isn't as strong as it could be...

This coin is not designated as "Full Steps" (FS).

I saw this on the new acquisitions thread and asked the grade, didn't realize it was posted here. I thought it was ms67 5FS, but I am bad at grading high grades. I just love this coin though.

Hmm....
Not sure if this is a business or proof strike but something about the luster and the strike that might suggest proof. The luster looks like it could have a mirror surface but I am not sure if it is a result of the photography. I will go against the trend and make a sort of wild guess of PR-66.

Full steps can be really difficult without the coin in hand. MS66

Once again, D0ubl3Eagle pretty much nailed it: calling out a proof, but a little high on the assigned grade...according to PCGS. I will post some in-hand images when it arrives.

I don't believe that TPG's call FS, FSB, FBL, etc... on proof coinage.

Is that shift doubling I see in the OP image across the motto's (obverse and reverse) and Mint Mark or a reflection due to be a Proof?
