I have some "getting rid of silver" questions. First the facts:

I have a bunch of silver as follows:
US silver coins, worth $237.19 in silver (assume silver at $33.22 per ounce)
2 Dollars: 1922 Peace and 1882 Morgan
4 90% Half Dollars: 43S, 45S, 64P x 2
3 40% Half Dollars 67, 68D x 2
12 Quarters: 48D, 51D, 52D, 53D x 2, 56P, 59D, 60D, 61D, 62D, 63D, 64D
18 dimes: 23, 27 x 3, 29 x 2, 34 x 2, 35, 36 x 2, 37 x 2, 37S, 38S, 41S, 45, 64
4 Silver War Nickles 42S, 43P, 44P, 45S

3 world trade center .999silver 1 Troy ounce coins worth $99.60 (assuming silver at $33.22 per ounce) (See photos below, two of them show the towers)

Canadian Silver Coins worth $22.90 in silver
4 80% silver quarters 42, 43, 44, 45
2 80% silver dimes 39, 60

The total silver value is about $359 US, My goal is to sell them as a lot. I put an ad on Craigslist and a guy offered $290 cash on the spot. Is this fair? If not would I be better off selling it here, ebay? Should I seek to sell them a coins or just melt value (all circulated condition, nothing great)

Is this too much to sell in one lump via mail and paypal, should I break it up? When shipping how do you make sure it really gets there etc.

I do not collect silver I just want to get rid of it without getting ripped off. Any suggestions. Please no offers here. If I sell it here I will put the ad in the proper place. This is just a series of questions to the experienced ones.

Often times breaking up a group will net you more money BUT requires a lot more effort and shipping costs. When you account for your time it is often best to sacrifice the small improvement of breaking up the set and sell as a bundle. That being said...an offer of 20% below melt is a bit much. If he came up to about $320-$325 I would say go for it (90% of melt). The extra 10% you might get on ebay isn't worth the extra effort.

If the lot is burning a hole in the location it's in in your world, try to get $310 at least as a lot.

If you don't mind it collecting a little more dust, part it out in a few lots here and/or on ebay and see what happens.

I would break up the lots into 90% silver, 40%, etc....and sell it on here for 5% less than spot...IF you are wanting to get rid of it.

I'm not sure if these are the ones, but isn't there a two towers coin floating around that is well sought after and worth substantially more than spot?

Something to do with being minted with silver from the debris. I don't have all the details unfortunately.

OK a success story I think. He came, looked honest (met him near a 24h manned police car) so he took the coins and I got $310 cash. Done. Actually quite easy.

I did check online about the silver rounds and these do not appear to be anything special just bullion value.

Now back to copper 1859 Canadian Cents...

Quick and to the point! Lol. I dont like craigslist in my opinion. Too many scammers emailing all the time. But regardless, nice sell.
