Silver is a touch over $32. Gold hovering a little over $1700.
Late Sunday night should be interesting.

Between 11am and noon today, gold dropped $18.20, silver dropped $0.45, platinum dropped $16 & palladium dropped $9. Even allowing for the South Africa mining labor instability, that's a whole bunch of dropping...
Looks like consumer PM purchasing for today and the weekend may be a very quiet scene.

Let's recap: an uncertain election, the fiscal cliff, euro zone problems, Iran, Syria, regional war worries in the Spratley Islands, and most recently China actively challenging Japanese sovereignty in the East China Sea. You'd think Au and Ag would be going through the roof.

Coin I think its that people are starting to get sick of it being so high. For now most people dont think about Iran a whole lot and dont care about Syria or the Spratley Islands and the China Japan shoving match has been going on forever. If PMs were lower I agree wed see a spike but theyre already sitting at where they would usually spike to

Price is relative, but it certainly appears that you are right. I suppose endless "worries and warnings" of what might come to pass can only propel the dollar value so high before price fatigue sets in.
On the bright side, it does appear to be an unexpected PM buying opportunity in the making.

I think you hit it right on the head with the worry fatigue. You can only cry wolf so many times before people stop caring.
The other thing that might be starting to happen too is with all the buying over the last 2 years a good percentage of people have probably gotten all the PMs they wanted or are very close to that amount and are just done buying. Most people had been buying at least some and not all of them had the intention of buying forever

Quote:And thats what .45s were made for Yep, as well as many other interesting weapons. In ancient times, a good spear was a very handy tool when big hungry critters were about. These came in 2 basic varieties... short for throwing and long for stabbing. Both worked pretty well. Not that I would prefer one over my Colt Model 1911, of course.

And to think that this past spring they were predicting Silver will reach $100 a ounce by late summer... Then again, they didn't say what year in late summer...

Acloco you didnt check to early, it did nose dive right off the bat before coming back. A good amount of the straight up line was making that ground back up, looks like its coming back down some now. Probably will have a small gain at the end of the day after a few days of big losses

Well, I was really hoping to wake up this morning and discover that Friday's downward slide had continued with the opening bell, but things seem to have stabilized (more or less). For now, at least. Let's see what happens in an hour...
