Check out this one. It hooks up to your computer and allows you to view the coin on your monitr, saving you a serious neckache if you plan on looking at a number of coins. AND its cheaper :) They are on backorder right now but will pace you on a waiting list for notification. Good luck

The one you mentioned has the same features as mine but mine is very old. If I were to pick up a new one I think I would like the tri-nocular to hook up a camera or camera to usb port. Looks great for the price thou.

Jim,

I use a "Monocular" from The Sharper Image. It's only $40 now. Cool thing with this is you can have an up close view of a coin or whatever or you can unscrew the 2 pieces and have a cool monocular (half binocular)

Have always wanted one of the Digital Blue scopes. They just get better all the time. US$50 postage to Australia is a killer though.

Don't bother, secretsquirrel. My liking for mine has steadily diminished from the day I opened the box, due to its' mediocre image quality. It is an excellent value for the money, but hardly an acceptable substitute for a more suitable, and expensive, tool.

if you do decide to go with the USB Microscope - QX5 MAKE SURE that you get the drivers for XP or you will be sorry. it will not work on your PC without these drivers. and they are almost impossible to get without buying another scope. I have a buddy that uses the QX3 and he gets very nice photo's but they are way over magnified. you do not need to look at a coin at 200X mag but some like it.they are mostly 60X-200X and to me that is looking way too close. if you cant see it at 6-20 X then it is not a big deal. most variety's can be seen with a reg 7-10X loupe. at 200X you are going to be seeing things that are not really there or are totally meaningless .I use a 10 30 X myself to get better pic's but you will get the best pic's with a 7.5 scope or you can get the whole coin in the shot anyway.
good luck and let us know the direction you take.
just my Two Cents lol
