Through this wonderful hobby/passion that we share, have begun to appreciate a variety of the designs from modern to current. Obviously, "the hunt", is truly part of this equation as well. Purchase the Intercept Shield book from CCF auction and waiting for it's arrival. This is the beginning of a circulated grade (ok, ok, some are UNC!!) type set of U.S. coinage.

Not bad. I figure a 7070 is something I'll work on in 20 years or so.

Gotta agree! If for no other reason prices now are likely better than you will get 20 yrs from now...

I've just completed my 7070 and looking at your collection above, I get a thrill looking at the history you've brought together in one place. I am pretty new to being just more than an observer at this and my sense of all that these coins represent is just growing. Great collection.

On the album, I hadn't heard that Dansco had discontinued the 7070. They've just put out a new end page to accomodate some of the later coins of the century....

The beginning of something good, I love it!

I am sure they will look wonderful in their new home, once it arrives.

So many, MANY people will look at these as say, "What are they?"
And acloco will respond, "Why, these are coins, just like the ones in your pocket. ---
---IF you lived many years ago."

Yeah, they are. Everybody is searching for them in the album section or putting in "type album" or something. I saw a dansco 7070 album with coins in it being sold a few weeks ago. The album was far from complete and the coins in it were all modern. Since everybody always just bids on coins and never albums in such auction, I think it sold for around $40. People probably were paying twice that to get the thing with no coins during the same week.

btw, one of my local coin shops found out that the album has been discontinued (or yet to be upgraded to be technical) and put it on sale. I doubt it's still there, they only had one left and this was a while ago.

might be some easy money to make buying it and selling it on ebay. I wish I didnt give my book away now! but the girlfriend still has hers which is good and she only needs three coins to finish it, but she started a capped dime book now so she is working on that
