Is that a speck of red wax I see there? If it is it would suggest your piece was illustrated in an auction catalogue or publication at some time in it's history.
Well spotted regarding the red speck, but not wax I discover and I've just blown it away. I have red felt in my coin cabinet drawers!

The George and dragon reverse is such a classic design.
Which reminds me;
I recently bought a decent George III crown. If I have time (er, I think we ALL have time these days), I'll photo and upload to this thread tomorrow.

This 1895 Shilling is absolutely lovely for its grade and exactly how I like circulated silver to look. Not messed with, just well used. Came in the mail today.  Another well worn Victorian issue, in this case, copper: an 1897 penny that must have passed through a great many hands but survived nonetheless; the only issue is the wear accrued over the years. I haven't posted any images in a long while primarily because I don't have the time to sort through photos nor the patience to resize each one for the forum.  ...so I thought it be a perfect opportunity to share a few with you and show off some of my collection.. Hopefully the images are suitable for viewing.. here's a nice Victoria half penny MS62 RB with lots of luster remaining.  EDIT; Here's a better one.  Edited by Harry213
