Post Your United Kingdom (Great Britain) Coin Acquisitions.

I'm a sucker for any coin not in my collection.

I got this today at my local antiques centre for £10. Without the hole it catalogues at £140. I'm quite pleased with it as these Bank of England tokens don't turn up very often and 1815 is a hard year to get coins from - it was the year before the great recoinage when The Royal Mint issued vast numbers of new silver coins:

A couple of pick ups 1879 Penny obverse is very proof-like very unusual and a beautifully struck coin.
1877 Penny with Error in the O of ONE and E over tilted E in ONE First 7 in the date is also struck over a higher 7 but this is also an unlisted variety with the right trident prong struck over a raised stop..
And another cracking coin obverse slightly lighter than the reverse obviously one side stored away from light. 1957 calm sea Half penny the scarcer of the 2 varieties and they don't come much better. Fully lustred UNC

My first bit of retail therapy for 2022, after the week I have had I derserve it. 5 more shillings (Had to leave 2 behind as the dealer is stuck in 1966 and has no credit card or debit card facilities and is cash monae only.



1826 Shilling George IV, the common date, but this is a better one (High Fine - near VF). Nearly also brought worn and stained 1827 and 1829.



1881 Queen Victoria shilling, gVF with some stunningly sharp detail, I love these wreath coins in nice condition.



1896 - aVF but harshly cleaned, this one was cheap - much better than my current 1896 and my 2nd decent old head shilling.
