It's in excellent condition, and if it only cost you a pony, you're on the money with it. I love bargains.

Meanwhile the UNC 1944 I brought recently has finally arrived.
This thing is a real stunner and will go well with my high grade 1940s Florins I already have.

Incredible value for the $19 (£9.75) I paid for it!

That '44 looks like you just half-inched it from the mint.

Gorgeous florin, Princetane, and grounds for some mild envy. That £9.75 in my field might get me a pocket piece in near Fine condition!
Nice pickup!

Yes I agree Coppertron. I mean I would not even look at those coins (George VI) in average condition, but EF or better with luster, they are the unsung bargain of any British silver collection. The photo again fails to do it justice, it really shines and has that noce cartwheel lustre on it. You would think its a good luck token for the upcoming D Day!

I can live my life with a collection of mostly worn 18th, 19th and early 20th century Florins and Halfcrowns, but will always get to see the bling explosion around 1934.

Daltonista, I agree, its like $20 - $30 just for a worn conder or 1811/12 Copper token - I understand a nice gold one like your avatar = 1000s and the 2/- and 4/- tokens high 3 figures at least.

@Princetane - do you have a 1937 proof two shillings? I've been looking for one and the variation in how they've aged is making me a little dizzy.

There's one in Spinks aucton on 6th September that I was looking at myself. Reasonable starting price if you're interested.
